Let CHAMING know in advance if: the skin in the area is sunburnt, has an open wound, or is inflamed or infected; you have recently waxed or plucked the area (it's best to let the hair grow back first); you are taking medication that makes your skin sensitive to light, or oral acne medication; or you are pregnant. What happens in a session?
- Checking the area
Your therapist checks the thickness and colour of the hair and the condition of the skin on both arms, from shoulder to wrist. At your first session, CHAMING will discuss the expected number of sessions after seeing the area in person.
- Cleansing and shaving both arms
Your therapist cleanses, dries and shaves both arms before treatment, so there's no need to shave at home.
- Treating from shoulder to wrist
Your therapist moves the cooled handpiece over one arm, then the other, from shoulder to wrist. Thinner skin is more sensitive, so just say so and your therapist will adjust the energy level.
- Soothing the skin
Your therapist soothes the treated skin on both arms before you leave.
- Aftercare advice and your next appointment
Your therapist explains how to care for your skin at home and books your next session. Hair grows in cycles, so you'll need a full course; the amount of hair reduces gradually over the sessions.
Aftercare
For the first 2 hours after your session: don't shower yet, and avoid getting water on the treated area of your arms.
For the first 24 hours: don't apply shower gel, lotion or body moisturiser to the treated area of your arms.
Throughout the course: never shave, wax, pluck or use hair removal cream at home, as this can easily leave the treated area inflamed, infected or irritated. CHAMING will shave the treatment area for you at every session. Come to your next appointment as scheduled to get the best results from your course.

Frequently asked questions
How many sessions will I need?
Hair grows in cycles, so each session can only reach the follicles that are in their active growth phase — which is why the treatment is done as a course, with sessions a few weeks apart. The exact number of sessions depends on the area, your body and how thick the hair is; CHAMING will discuss this after seeing the area in person.
Does it hurt?
Most people describe it as a light flick of a rubber band. Thinner skin is more sensitive; just say so straight away and your therapist will adjust the energy level.
How should I prepare for a session?
You don't need to shave yourself: your CHAMING therapist will cleanse and shave the treatment area right before the session. Beforehand, simply avoid waxing, plucking, or applying cream or deodorant to the area, and stay out of the sun for a few days.
How is this different from the half arm package?
The full arm package covers everything from shoulder to wrist. The half arm package covers only the forearms — the part that shows most when you roll up your long sleeves.
