Micro PIH
Micropoint treatment for red post-acne marks — helping your skin repair itself.
Benefits
Works on the red marks that remain.
Helps the skin renew itself.
When is Micro PIH a good fit?
The spots have cleared, but the marks are still there.
The surface isn't deeply indented yet.
Please see a dermatologist first if: you are taking oral acne medication or stopped less than 6 months ago; your skin is infected or has fluid-filled bumps or blisters; you have an open wound or recent sunburn; you have had a peel, laser or microneedling in the past 2 weeks; or inflamed acne is spreading and very painful. Let CHAMING know in advance if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
What happens in a session?
- Skin analysis and consultation
Our doctor analyses your skin, looks at the red marks and chooses a depth that suits your skin. Please let us know in advance if you're taking any medication, or are pregnant or breastfeeding.
- Cleansing and disinfection
Your skin is cleansed and the treatment area disinfected before the micropoint step.
- Micropoint on the marks
The doctor applies the micropoint technique to the red marks at the chosen depth. You may feel some prickling; the doctor will adjust to your feedback.
- Delivering nutrients into the skin
The micropoints help your skin absorb nutrients better, supporting the healing response so the skin can renew itself.
- Soothing and moisturising
The treated area is soothed and a thin layer of moisturiser is applied before you leave.
- Aftercare advice and your next appointment
The doctor explains how to care for your skin tonight and over the next 7 days, then books your next session at least 3 weeks after this one.
Aftercare
Tonight: apply an antiseptic solution to your skin, leave it for 1 minute, then wipe it off with saline. Apply a thin layer of the moisturiser CHAMING gives you and wait 10 minutes. Use any topical medication exactly as directed by the doctor (if you have been given one).
For the next 7 days: morning and evening, apply antiseptic solution for 1 minute, wipe with saline, then apply the moisturiser CHAMING gives you and wait 10 minutes. For the first three days, don't use a cleanser and limit activities that make you sweat a lot. Skip sunscreen this week so you don't need to use make-up remover in the evening, as rubbing can make the new skin peel too early. Cover up very well when you go out. Pause retinol, other retinoids and other targeted products.
If your skin reacts or anything doesn't feel right, message us on WhatsApp or call +84 925 055 555 so CHAMING can help promptly.
Frequently asked questions
How long do post-acne marks take to fade?
Red marks and brown marks fade at different rates, and it also depends on your skin. There's no fixed timeline.
How is it different from Micro Acnes?
Micro Acnes is for skin that still has active acne. Micro PIH is for the marks left behind once the acne has cleared.
Does it hurt?
You'll feel some prickling; the doctor adjusts to your feedback.
How long does the redness last after a session?
A review of microneedling in the Indian Dermatology Online Journal (2016) notes that redness and mild swelling usually last 2–3 days. How it goes for you depends on the depth the doctor chooses for your skin.
How often should I have a session?
The medical literature spaces microneedling sessions 3–8 weeks apart, with a minimum of 3 weeks, and collagen continues to form for 3–6 months after the course ends (Indian Dermatology Online Journal, 2016).
