What happens in a session?
- Skin analysis and consultation
Our doctor analyses your skin and assesses pitted scars, pores and wrinkles to choose the areas to treat. If your skin is infected or has a lesion that needs a doctor's assessment, you'll be advised to get it checked first.
- Cleansing and disinfection
Make-up removal, cleansing and thorough disinfection of the area to be lasered.
- Fractional laser
You wear protective eyewear while the doctor applies the fractional laser to the scars and chosen areas of skin. The energy level is set according to your skin and the area being treated; if it feels uncomfortable, say so straight away.
- Soothing and recovery
The treated area is soothed and covered with a thin layer of repairing moisturiser to ease the burning sensation.
- Home care advice and your next appointment
The doctor explains how to care for your skin tonight and over the next 7 days, then books the next session of your course once your skin has recovered.
Aftercare
Tonight: pat an antiseptic solution onto your skin, leave it for 1 minute, then wipe it off with saline. Apply a thin layer of the moisturiser CHAMING gives you, wait 10 minutes, then use any topical medication exactly as directed by the doctor (if you have been given one).
For the first 3 days: don't use a cleanser yet, and limit activities that make you sweat a lot.
For the next 7 days: morning and evening, pat antiseptic solution onto your skin for 1 minute, wipe with saline, then apply the moisturiser CHAMING gives you and wait 10 minutes. Skip sunscreen for now so you don't need to use make-up remover in the evening, as rubbing can strip away the new skin. Instead, cover up very well when you go out. Don't wear make-up, don't exfoliate, and pause targeted products such as retinol and retinoids.

Frequently asked questions
Does the CO2 laser hurt?
You'll feel heat and stinging. The energy level is adjusted to your skin and the area being treated; let us know straight away if it feels uncomfortable.
How soon after the laser can I go back to work?
Your skin needs time to recover and is very sensitive to the sun during this period. Plan your session away from any important events, and talk the details through with us beforehand.
How should I care for my skin after the laser?
Use a repairing moisturiser. In the first week, skip sunscreen so you don't need make-up remover, and cover up very well instead; avoid make-up, exfoliation and retinol during these days.
Who shouldn't have it?
If your skin is infected, you're taking oral acne medication, or you have a skin lesion that needs a doctor's assessment, please get it checked first.
