Micro Acnes
Microneedling for long-standing acne — stimulates the skin's own repair process.
Benefits
Helps reduce clogging in acne-prone skin.
Microneedling works on the problem areas.
Aims for a smoother, more even skin surface.
Stimulates the skin's natural healing process.
When is Micro Acnes a good fit?
You've tried the usual approaches without improvement.
You want to improve surface texture.
Please see a dermatologist first if: you are taking oral acne medication or stopped less than 6 months ago; your skin is infected or has fluid-filled bumps or blisters; you have an open wound or recent sunburn; you have had a peel, laser or microneedling in the past 2 weeks; or inflamed acne is spreading and very painful. Let CHAMING know in advance if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
What happens in a session?
- Skin analysis and consultation
We analyse your skin to check inflamed acne, closed comedones and surface texture; our doctor chooses the needle depth and confirms the number of sessions for you. Treatment of severely inflamed areas will be postponed, and you'll be advised to see a dermatologist first.
- Cleansing and disinfection
Make-up removal, cleansing and thorough disinfection of the area to be microneedled.
- Microneedling
The doctor microneedles the acne-prone and bumpy areas at the chosen depth. You'll feel a prickling sensation; the doctor adjusts to your feedback.
- Soothing the skin
Your therapist soothes the microneedled area to reduce the heat and prickling before you leave.
- Home care advice and your next appointment
The doctor explains how to care for your skin tonight and over the next 7 days. Your skin is usually red for the first few days; your next session is booked at least 3 weeks later.
Aftercare
Tonight: pat an antiseptic solution onto your skin, leave it for 1 minute, then wipe it off with saline. Apply a thin layer of the moisturiser CHAMING gives you, wait 10 minutes, then use any topical medication exactly as directed by the doctor (if you have been given one).
For the first 3 days: don't use a cleanser yet, and limit activities that make you sweat a lot.
For the next 7 days: morning and evening, pat antiseptic solution onto your skin for 1 minute, wipe with saline, then apply the moisturiser CHAMING gives you and wait 10 minutes. Skip sunscreen for now so you don't need to use make-up remover in the evening, as rubbing can strip away the new skin. Instead, cover up very well when you go out. Pause active treatment products such as retinol and retinoids.
If your skin reacts or anything doesn't feel right, message us on WhatsApp or call +84 925 055 555 so CHAMING can help promptly.
Frequently asked questions
Does microneedling hurt?
You'll feel a prickling sensation. How much depends on the area and the depth chosen; the doctor adjusts to your feedback.
How soon after microneedling can I go back to work?
Your skin is usually red for the first 2–3 days. If you have an important event, it's best to schedule your session a few days before it.
Can I have this if I have severely inflamed acne?
No. Severely inflamed areas need to be seen by a dermatologist first; CHAMING will postpone the session and advise you to get your skin checked.
How often should I have a session?
Protocols in the medical literature space microneedling sessions 3–8 weeks apart, with a minimum of 3 weeks; acne scars in particular usually need at least 4–6 sessions before a significant improvement is seen (Indian Dermatology Online Journal, 2016). Your number of sessions is confirmed by the doctor after analysing your skin.
How long does the redness last after a session?
A review of microneedling in the Indian Dermatology Online Journal (2016) notes that redness and mild swelling usually last 2–3 days. How it goes for you depends on the depth the doctor chooses for your skin.
