DPL light therapy for oily, acne-prone skin — helps calm inflammation and soothe swollen, red areas.
Benefits
The light works on inflamed areas.
Eases the tight, tender feeling of inflamed spots.
Helps prevent clogged pores.
Works on areas of skin that have darkened after acne has healed.
No needles and no cutting of the skin.
When is DPL Acnes a good fit?
Red, swollen, uncomfortable spots.
You've tried the usual approaches without improvement.
You want a non-invasive option.
Please see a dermatologist first if: you are taking oral acne medication or stopped less than 6 months ago; your skin is infected or has fluid-filled bumps or blisters; you have an open wound or recent sunburn; you have had a peel, laser or microneedling in the past 2 weeks; or inflamed acne is spreading and very painful. Let CHAMING know in advance if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
What happens in a session?
- Skin analysis and consultation
Your therapist analyses your skin, checking inflamed spots, swollen red areas and post-acne marks. If you're using acne medication, let us know beforehand, including the name of the medication, as some medications make the skin more sensitive to light.
- Cleansing
Make-up removal and cleansing to clear away excess oil and dirt so the light works evenly on the skin.
- DPL light therapy
You wear protective eyewear while your therapist applies DPL light to the areas of inflamed acne and post-acne marks. It usually just feels slightly warm; if it stings, tell your therapist straight away so they can adjust the energy level.
- Soothing the skin
Your therapist soothes the treated area so the swelling and redness settle down before you leave.
- Home care advice and your next appointment
Your therapist explains how to care for your skin tonight and over the next few days, then books the next session in your course.
Aftercare
Tonight: remove your make-up, then wash your face with a gentle cleanser. If you have your session after 5 pm, simply rinse your face with clean water. Next, pat an antiseptic solution onto your skin, leave it for 1 minute, then wipe it off with saline and apply a thin layer of hydrating or repairing serum. Finally, dab antiseptic solution onto any inflamed spots and leave it on overnight.
From tomorrow: follow your usual skincare routine. Apply sunscreen, but avoid the inflamed spots. During the day, put pimple patches on any inflamed spots that have come to a white head.
For the first 5 days: pause AHA, BHA, retinoids and other strong actives.
If your skin reacts or anything doesn't feel right, message us on WhatsApp or call +84 925 055 555 so CHAMING can help promptly.
